I am running CatDV Server 6 and would like to upgrade to Server 7 ?

Answer

Server 7 is a significant advance from server 6 with some excellent features and benefits. Anyone on maintenance is encouraged to update to Server 7.

Under the covers, Server 7 stores its metadata in different structures from Server 6, to enable the new server capabilities. As a result, Square Box Systems is overseeing the first round of upgrades. This is to make sure the migration process runs smoothly.

During this time we would like you to contact us directly or your seller. We can then arrange the migration process. We request access to a copy of your database for internal testing, once our tests are complete we will then arrange a date for the upgrade.

Once the first batch of upgrades have taken place we will then authorize our resellers to perform the server 6 to server 7 upgrade process.

Can I upgrade to Server 7 myself ?

This is not recommended

Due to the complex nature of each database your re seller will need to be involved to make sure all data is migrated successfully.

I am out of support can I still upgrade ?

Answer

Only users with current maintenance contracts are entitled to the Server 7  upgrade. For customers on a valid support contract an upgrade fee may be required depending on what version of CatDV server you are running please contact sales@squarebox.com for more information.
