CATDV EXTENDS LEADERSHIP IN ASSET MANAGEMENT PARTNERSHIPS AT NAB 2014 (Booth SL5025)

Stratford-upon-Avon, UK, April 2, 2014 – Square Box Systems (www.squarebox.com), developer of leading asset management system CatDV, has further extended the essential technology integrations that form the solid foundation stones of effective asset management, with today’s announcement of new integration partners, and with CatDV appearing on more partner booths than ever during NAB 2014.

The unmatched capability of CatDV asset management software (#SL5025) to integrate seamlessly with an even wider range of popular live production, media ingest, NLE software and hardware, SAN/NAS storage, archive and content distribution systems, is key to delivering confidence to customers looking to automate their media management, archiving and distribution workflows.

New technology partnerships at NAB 2014 include the integration of CatDV with AmberFin transcode technology (SU8505), FileCatalyst accelerated and managed file transfer systems (SL9113), Grass Valley’s Edius NLE, (SL206), Newtek’s 3Play instant replay and TriCaster multi-camera live video production systems (SL4610), and Sony’s Optical Disk Archive technology (C11001).

Along with these new partnerships, CatDV is also at the heart of many other valuable workflows on show at NAB 2014. CatDV enjoys seamless integration with NLE and creative software tools including Adobe Premier and Creative Suite (SL3910) and Avid Media Composer (SU902), plus streamlined integrations with storage solutions from Facilis (SL7610), SGL (SL5306), SNS (Stand SL10827) and Storage DNA (SL10621).

CatDV archive system integrations include: ASG/Atempo (SL110808), Quantum StorNext (SL8416), GB Labs Space (SL5325), Xendata (SL12713), Archiware (SL13413), 1 Beyond (SL7412), BRU and DAX (SL13105), Cache-A (SL9027).

Other key technology partnerships include integrations with Nexidia’s dialog search analytics (SL12517), Focal Point Server workflow management systems (SL5505), and RED Digital Cinema native R3D data (SL1519).

“CatDV has always been one of the easiest products to integrate with,” said Dave Clack, CEO of Square Box Systems. “When customers invest in CatDV, they have genuine confidence it will work with a host of associated technologies from other leading vendors from camera to post and delivery. All too often technology partnerships amount to nothing more than convenient marketing relationships. But CatDV has a dynamic, forward-thinking approach, based on solid technology, that make solutions work end-to end.”

Michael Kornet, executive VP of business development at NewTek, commented, “CatDV is a highly-valued product for our worldwide TriCaster and 3Play customers who count on asset management workflows. The combination of CatDV software integrated with TriCaster and 3Play is a powerful customer solution.”

Regarding CatDV integration with storage vendors, Dave Clack said, “Facilis and CatDV make a great choice for customers wanting greater productivity and the benefits of automation.” James McKenna VP, marketing and pre-sales at Facilis said: “CatDV’s powerful media management tools perfectly complement Facilis Terrablock’s high-performance, scalable shared-storage. Both products are unmatched for their cross platform support, connectivity, cost effectiveness and flexibility.”

Jeremy Deaner, CEO of AmberFin, remarked, “We are currently working with Square Box to provide seamless integration between the CatDV asset management and automation software and our iCR platform to broaden the CatDV offering for broadcast-compliant codecs and wrappers and add superior video quality and features, such as frame rate conversion.
