CatDV 11 is a major step forward in the evolution of CatDV, designed to appeal to a wider user community whilst remaining familiar to our existing customers. Under the covers, the application has benefited from major improvements which make the application more responsive and pleasing to use.

CatDV 11.0 New Features
  • CatDV Workspaces – all parts of the user interface can be switched on and off, and built into customizable workspaces
  • A new Actions tab highlights the interaction with the major edit packages as well as options to render movies

CatDV Server 6.9
  • REST API improvements to support editing of clips
  • Update the Web Client so it now uses REST API
  • Server plugin API to write new server-side Java commands for use by CatDV Pro, Pegasus and Web clients. (See catdvplugins.zip in the plugins directory for details.)
CatDV Web Client
  • Ability to upload clips from the Web Client (files are placed in a configurable drop folder on the server for the Worker to process)
  • New timeline control in the Web Client, showing mark in and out points and event markers and the ability to drag In and Out points
  • Web Client now allows creation of subclips and basic clip list sequence editing, and plays sequences
  • Ability to delete clips via the web interface (if you have permission to do so)
  • Ability to export clips and sequences as FCP7 XML directly from the Web Client
  • Ability to click on still images to open them in a separate viewer window
  • Ability to allow downloads of either original or proxy media, including use path mappings to enable server to locate the media
  • Update the Web Client to use a new data grid that supports paging of results, a refreshed “crisper” look and feel, and sorting of tables by clicking on column headers
  • New “review and approval” and “video sharing” web applications (including the ability to create a “basket” of clips and define actions on those baskets), available as functional sample applications that can be customised further to suit your requirements

Availability and pricing

CatDV 11 is available for download now.

Users who purchased CatDV on or after May 1st, 2014 can download and use CatDV 11 with their existing license, otherwise existing standalone users can upgrade to CatDV Pro 11.0 from just £75 (excl. VAT). Please contact your reseller if you are using a Workgroup or Enterprise Server system.

If you’re currently on an older version and upgrade to CatDV 11 you will obviously benefit from the improvements made in CatDV 10 and earlier also.
